Lemonsoul is formed by two Dutch musicians: Jamez and John. They joined forces in 1999 and built an extensive repertoire of more than 70 Tracks, and counting! Some have been officially released, like two songs and remixes for Jamez's Dreamchasing album, the collaboration on Trancesetters' Synergy EP and a remix of Transmission for the Australian band Angel Theory.
Jamez is no newcomer in the music business. As a seasoned musician and producer, he has had a hand in more good records than most of us have had hot dinners.
John is the lead vocalist but also writer, composer and co-producer. His talent in creating melodies combines perfectly with Jamez' routined tastes in shaping musical landscapes.
Shreds of atmospheres and raw samples are sequenced into a melodical story and often complemented with whispering or scorching vocals, turning the track into a unique song. The music is a combination of Jamez' techno touch and John's temper and tantrums, lyrics and vocal skills. | |
"We're influenced by numerous musical genres like dance, electro, techno, guitar, ambient, gothic and plain softpop." |
They work in Jamez' studio at home,
using mainly computerbased equipment.

"Somewhere along the line we started to combine influences from world music with dark atmospheres and electronic rhythms. This turned out so different from Lemonsoul, that we decided to classify these attempts and some other older 'dark' tracks under a separate project called Dark Territory."
