New SOLAR album out nowMarch, 2011 We are very happy to announce the release of the new SOLAR album "Amaranthine" on NoHorizon Recordings. Working on opposite sides of the planet, Australian composer Charles Fenech and Dutch vocalist John van Loon created a soundtrack for a distant world... soundscapes of haunting atmospheres, pulsating rhythms, and ethereal vocals. The absence of working in the same room is heard in silences. "Amaranthine" is now available in the official SOLAR SHOP, and through iTunes. |

SOLAR - AmaranthineSeptember 2010 Australian music producer Charles Fenech and Dutch vocalist John van Loon join forces on the magnificent second SOLAR release "Amaranthine". Fenech, best known for his powerful EBM-project AngelTheory, created
SOLAR as an instrumental project in 2004, to give expression to his more
orchestral and cinematical music talent. Flirting with the early works of Delerium, Synaestheasia, Dead Can Dance and John Foxx, "Amaranthine" brings the listener dark and atmospheric ambiences, creating feelings of eternal peace, tribal ecstasy and melancholic sadness. This mesmerizing second SOLAR release will definitely capture many hearts with its beauty. "Amaranthine" will be released through all the major digital download stores and is available in February 2011. Prior to the digital release of the album, a free download of the exclusive "The se7enth Gate"-EP will be made available. More information about Solar can be found on the following sites: |

Schmerztanz CD releasedSeptember 25th, 2008 The "Schmerztanz EP" is now available as a strictly limited edition CD. The CD contains the thumping and seductive song Schmerztanz, a unique collaboration with poetess Sara Noxx called Die Geschichte einer Blume, and two exclusive remixes: a mesmerizing reinterpretation of Tora Firome by Sensory Gate, and a wicked electronic reconstruction of Vrijdag by Tonikom. The "Schmerztanz CD" is a precursor to the upcoming double disc and full album "Dichotomy", which is ready to be pressed. Unfortunately, due to health issues, Dark Territory has to postpone "Dichotomy" until next year. The "Schmerztanz CD" is

HyperacusisSeptember 2008 Due to health issues, which have started in March 2008, John had to discontinue all musical activities from then on. He had come down with a severe intolerance to sound, a condition known as hyperacusis, cause unknown. Because of this, John was no longer able to do many things that involve sound. Common things, like listening to music, watching television, being in a room with other people, using household equipment like vacuum cleaners or washing machines, or going out to face the world. All this time John kept hope that one day all would change for the better. Even though there is no cure for this condition, hyperacusis is a treatable challenge which can be beaten! We are now half a year later, and John is doing much better. Currently he is undergoing special treatment in Belgium and his hearing is slowly but steadily recovering. We have good hope that given more time and rest, he will be back into business next year. Due to these circumstances, we have decided to postpone the release of our double album "Dichotomy" until next year.
